McNevin Hayes was born in Detroit, Michigan. Over the years he has been a line cook, a vacuum cleaner salesman, a professional seashell washer, stagehand, special effects animator, scenic painter, and bookstore manager. He is currently painting, teaching and writing.

 

He is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. His artwork has appeared in galleries, books, magazines, CD liner notes and in murals. He has been recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, including from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.

 

He lives in Pittsford, NY, with his wife Debra, a glass artist and environmental graphics designer, and their son Nathan.
